A dream in the heart of the Picos de Europa
El Refugio de Redo grew out of a family’s dream: for years they pictured having a house of their own in Cantabria, a stone place to keep coming back to. When they found this one in the tiny hamlet of Redo, in the municipality of Camaleño, it was love at first sight — the calm of the Liébana valley and the views of the Picos de Europa won them over on the spot.
They restored it with enormous care, respecting the traditional character of the mountains and attending to every detail so that it would feel warm and welcoming. They brought back the original stone and timber and combined them with the comforts of today, so the house would be as authentic as it is comfortable.
What began as a family retreat became a place they wanted to share. Today it opens its doors to anyone looking to switch off, enjoy the landscape and feel at home. Every guest is welcomed with the same excitement they felt the day they first walked through that door.
